Berkshire Health Systems Looking for Staff Nurse at Pittsfield, MA Full Time

• This is North Adams Regional Hospital (NARH) position. The position will start as a BMC position in Pittsfield, then transfer to NARH when NARH begins operations.
• This is a Med Surge/ED position, must be willing to float to Pre and Post Op.

Registered Nurse is the designation given to an individual who is licensed to practice professional nursing, holds ultimate responsibility for direct and indirect nursing care, is a graduate of an approved school for professional nursing, and is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse pursuant to M.G.L. c.112. Included in such responsibility is providing nursing care, health maintenance, teaching, counseling, planning and restoration for optimal functioning and comfort, of those they serve.

The Registered Professional Nurse functions as a health care team leader responsible for the safe delivery of patient-centered, goal oriented care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Professional Nurse also directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

• Experience:

â—Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Has a thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures.

• Minimum of one year recent experience in medical/surgical nursing preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing process through his/her understanding, judgment and skills.
• Minimum of one year recent experience in ICU/CCU/ED/ER preferred.
• Education and Training:

â—Associates Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• License, Certification & Registration:

â—RN License – Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts

CPR

• ACLS required and PALS required.
• Other Requirements:

â—Demonstrates continuing education in accordance with State regulations. Assures compliance with unit-specific scope of practice. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of the position can be fully met.

• Other Addendum(s) Requirements:

Must be willing to act in a cross-training capacity to Endoscopy & North County ASC PACU.

Must be oriented to Crane PACU functions within 6 weeks

Operating Room orientation will be at the discretion of the manager

• Demonstrated ability to keep abreast of developments in the field of Perioperative Nursing.

• Sterilizer, power tools/equipment, operating room table, surgical lights, computers, intercom, stretchers, cardiac monitors, defibrillator, addressograph, patient lounge chairs.
