General Manager of Bear Valley Vacation Rentals

Position Summary: Bear Valley Vacation Rentals oversees the management a portfolio of approximately 40 homes and condos in Bear Valley, California as part of its vacation rental program. The General Manager will lead a team of individuals responsible for all parts of the guest journey from marketing and distribution to the on-site experience. Bear Valley Vacation Rentals seeks to deliver best-in-class service to its guests and maintain strong relationships with the homeowners in the program as well as the community in which we operate. The company is part of the 2nd Home Management full-service management program.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Hiring and retaining key employees including front office, maintenance, and housekeeping
· Overseeing the operations of the company including purchasing, scheduling, guest issue resolution
· Coordinating repairs and minor upgrades homeowners in a timely and cost-efficient manner
· Setting strategies for sales and marketing
· Achieving excellent guest satisfaction scores and a high guest return rate
· Maintaining close relationships with existing homeowners in the program and attracting new participants in the program
· Closely collaborating with the VP of Operations to introduce service standards, prepare budgets and set goals
· Assisting with on-property bookkeeping, coordinating payables and maintaining a solid understanding of the profit and loss statement
Qualifications: We are seeking a highly motivated, service-oriented individual able to oversee all parts of the vacation rental business. Desired qualifications will include the following
· Strong Hospitality experience in the Vacation Rental or Hotel industry
· Experience building high performing teams, including the ability to recognize and cultivate rising talent
· Adept at transitioning seamlessly from a strategic level vision to day-to-day tactical operations
· Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
· A demonstrated execution mindset and a record of success holding people accountable
· Understanding of and ability to create a healthy organizational culture
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills
· Varied experiences and responsibilities in Operations, Finance, and Human Resources
· Working knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting for a hospitality operation
· Experience with purchasing and maintaining vendor relationships

Bear Valley is located in California’s least populated county on Highway 4 between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite in the Central Sierra Mountains. Bear Valley Vacation Rentals are the closest accommodations to Bear Valley Ski Resort, which is 4 miles away. Honored by being on one of the few distinguished National Scenic Byways and set in the midst of over one million acres of Wilderness and National Forest lands, Bear Valley is the closest mountain getaway from the South Bay, East Bay, and the Central Valley. Bear Valley Vacation Rentals manages approximately 40 privately owned cabins and condos.
