AvanosCO-OP/Intern:Supply Chain Engineer

The AvanosCO-OP/Internprogram is a unique experience giving current students the opportunity towork one or more termsunder the direction of an experienced engineerassisting and executing real workin the area of medical device product development, sustaining,andsupply chain execution.CO-OP/Intern Positions may be available in Research & Development (R&D), Quality Assurance & Regulatory, or Supply Chain & Procurement.
These full-time (40 hours/week), paid positions that are 11-12 weeks in length and typically reflect the standard school semester. Positions are available during the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. Avanos’ main office locationis located inAlpharetta, GA and housing assistance is currently offered for out of state students. Most positions require a flex work arrangement (some time in the office, some work done from a non-office location – e.g. home office).
During the program, studentswill be matched up witha Mentor andwill get exposure to various meet-and-greets withsenior leadership, networking opportunities, and social events with fellow co-ops.
TheRole
The individual in this role shall assist in Supply Chain activities in support ofone or multiple product portfolios. Supply Chain activities may include task related to Procurement, Distribution, Manufacturing, Operations and Cost Optimization work. Individuals are expected to execute technical tasks in support Supply Chain optimization and maintenance including the following: analysis of data related to the Supply Chain using Excel and other statistical software, interaction with the end-to-end Supply Chain including vendors and manufacturer. Applicants are expected to possess a solid understanding of Supply Chain principles (Ex. Logistics) and statistical analysis (Ex. Tolerance interval calculations).
Responsibilities:
Provide support for designated projects related to optimizing, maintaining, or updating the Supply Chain for various product lines and
Supporting vendor sourcing work for projects
Perform statistical analysis to make sound recommendations on process gaps and cost optimization
Actively engage in formal and informal written and verbal communication within the team and with cross functional team members.
Resolve technical problems. Identify or create solutions for technical problems using systematic problem-solving and statistical methodologies.
Work to maintain Supply Chain performance and quality by assisting with issues that impact the end-to-end Supply Chain:
Establish and recommend metrics that indicate Supply Chain health
Creation and maintenance of process maps
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineeringin Process
Minimum GPA of 3.0out of cumulative 4.0 GPA
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on afull timebasis and does not require sponsorship in the future for an employment visa
Must be able to participate full time (40 hours/week) as part of the intern cohort
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree student with sophomore or Junior Level class standing
Previous Internship experience is a strong plus
Effectivecommunication skills:listening, writing, speaking and oral presentations
Strong technical acumen,problem solving, self-motivated, and independent.
Proven collaboration with cross-functional/multi-disciplinary teams, especially technical development teams.
Familiar with good documentation practices (protocols, data analysis and reports)
Knowledge within the medical device industry including quality requirements and regulatory requirements
Working knowledge of solid modeling using Solidworks
Experiencewith report writing and test protocols
Strong knowledge of Statistical Methods
