The Director of Managed Transportation leads and develops the Managed
Transportation sales and operations strategy. Highly motivated and engaged
individual, responsible to enhance the strength and growth of the customer base
of ATS Logistics. Responsible for all contracted Managed Transportation
solutions in the North American Region. Provide vision for ATS Managed
Transportation solutions and executes the road map to accomplish objectives.
Consult with clients on supply chain to analyze business data and create a
customized solution by inbound planning and vendor management, as well as
scorecard reporting on internal and external metrics.
Provide control and discipline within the customer supply chain.
Manage customer vendors and provide shipping directions.
Work closely with ATS sales team and operations to leverage and identify
contract logistics opportunities.
Evaluate current processes and suggest, implement and refine policies and
procedures to optimize efficiencies.
Value proposition creation.
Contract management; estimated cost vs actual costs, negotiations and yearly
review.
Responsible for monitoring performance, research workflow process, conduct
strategic meetings with stakeholders, administer the budgeting process and
ensure programs comply with state and federal regulations.
Actively engaging in customer and business relations and pricing.
Establishes operating budget and strategic plan, ensuring that all company
and department goals are met.
Operate within budget guidelines. P&L responsibility.
Identify, evaluate and resolve the needs of the customer and managed
transportation team for inefficiencies and procedural deficiencies and allocate
resources as needed.
Continuously seeks to improve departmental technology, quality, efficiency,
and productivity standards.
Maintains a favorable working relationship with carriers to promote a
cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to
productivity and efficiency/effectiveness.
?Education and Experience
Bachelors degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in
operations management, business management; or 3-5 years related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the
transportation industry resulting in a firm understanding of the 3PL industry
with a strong working knowledge of operations, logistics, and transportations
principles.
Supply chain logistics and/or managed transportation experience required.
Experience with all modes of transportation, with a focus on FTL and LTL.
Strong analytical and data visualization competency experience required.
Three to four years of leadership experience.
Ability to review and comprehend P&L reports; performing operational
adjustments to meet company financial needs.
Knowledge of inbound and outbound planning and vendor management.
Knowledge of scorecard reporting on internal and external metrics.
Excellent organizational and attention to details skills and ability to
manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and
external customers.
