Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Dual Achievement Program) position in
the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located at Atlanta Tech’s South campus just south of Downtown Atlanta in Forest
Park, Ga.
Under the general supervision of the Director of the Dual Achievement Program, the Adjunct Instructor (Dual Achievement
Program) position requires a passion, demonstrated by experience, for effective teaching and advisement of diverse students. Atlanta
Technical College seeks Adjunct high school instructors for the following disciplines: Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Health
and Physical Education. Under general supervision, the instructor will teach class at the general education level for our new ATC
Preparatory Academy Dual Achievement Program. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Manage face-to-face,
online and/or hybrid classes.
* Evaluate student progress and performance in attaining goals and objectives.
* Work to
maintain a secure classroom environment, plan, organize, and participate in staff development and conferences.
* Work collaboratively
with department counterparts on curriculum and be willing to serve on cross-functional teams of ATC Preparatory Academy and the college.
* Must have excellent computer skills, knowledge of online instructional delivery and learning platforms used in secondary and
post-secondary education.
* Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, remaining professional at all times,
and delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
* Must strive to contribute to the overall
success of the Dual Achievement Program, students and families, and the college as a whole.
* Perform additional duties, as
assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess and demonstrate an Associate
degree Business or Education and at least six (6) months of teaching experience. Must also
demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum
requirements, possess and demonstrate the following:
* Bachelor’s degree in education, specializing in high school Math, Science,
Social Studies and/or Language Arts.
* At least one (1) year teaching experience at the K-12th grade level.
* Ability to think multi-task, quickly and independently.
