The mission of Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is to generate new knowledge and translate advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases that affect children’s health through adolescence and adulthood. Our multidisciplinary teams are committed to making discoveries that will improve the lives of children and their families.
Manne Research Institute faculty members investigate a range of children’s health and diseases across the translational science spectrum. The research institute’s studies are led by over 750 researchers and staff and are organized into four scientific pillars: Basic and Preclinical Science; Clinical and Community Trials; Community, Population Health, and Outcomes; and Quantitative Science.
The Administrative Assistant Senior – Research Administration provides operational-focused clerical and administrative support across various teams and initiatives.

Job Description
Provides general clerical and administrative support to the Office of the Chief Operating Office and Research Administration. Supports onboarding and offboarding activities for various teams and units, including coordination of software/hardware requests, user access, building access, etc. Schedules and maintains calendars, meetings, events, and travel itineraries for departmental activities as needed. This may include inpatient or service call, outpatient clinics, and academic schedules. Screens and manages telephone calls and visitors; troubleshoots and resolves routine and some complex inquires. Organizes electronic and hard copy filing system, scans documents to appropriate locations, and maintains divisional files. Prepares and modifies documents including correspondence, reports, presentations, drafts, memos, and emails using MS Office Suite of applications. Maintains, orders, and distributes office supplies as needed. Performs other job functions as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent training, skill, or experience. A minimum of two years general office or administrative experience preferred. Strong ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal correspondence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications. Effectively and efficiently manages time, efforts, and workload. Demonstrates a high level of care, accuracy, and thoroughness. Ability to provide quality customer service to employees, leaders, and external guests/visitors. Interest in or willingness to engage in learning and developing process improvement/change management skills.
