Position Summary:
The Underwriting Manager – Transportation & Logistics reports to the Head of Inland Marine and is responsible for developing and executing the Inland Marine Transportation & Logistics product strategy
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for product development in line with customer and market needs, in line with AIG’s global product and distribution strategy.
Set and deliver objectives for product performance, including growth and profitability. Working with the Head of Inland Marine to establish risk appetite and line setting standards; set clear expectations around underwriting guidelines and ensure rating and pricing adequacy.
Together with the Head of Inland Marine, develop business cases for new markets, products, services and tools, and marketing, distribution, and underwriting strategies; mobilize the team and execute on plans.
Drive development and execution of portfolio management strategies & KPI’s and talent development and retention initiatives
What we are looking for:
Proven track record in senior product management roles, responsible for multiple products and new product development
Extensive experience in a technical role through different market cycles, utilizing analytical and quantitative skills to underpin development of new products and monitoring performance
Implementing strategies on market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and distribution, achieving successful delivery of business objectives
Leading diverse teams through change
Managing multiple customer and intermediaries
