Amex Flex

The Role
This Vice President will lead the team and be responsible for a notable share of the Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS) portfolio. This role leads the end-to-end management of merchant risk with the strategic merchants in the Americas with material exposure to the travel related industries.
The successful candidate will lead a large, globally distributed team working on an exciting growth area for American Express. Furthermore, this team will collaborate with the larger credit and fraud risk organization, product management, finance, acquisition, customer marketing, legal, compliance and technology. This role will report into the Chief Credit Officer of Global GMNS Risk with excellent visibility to Senior Leadership.
Additionally, a successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to be a hands-on leader who can delve deep into the policies, operational processes, analytics, credit analysis, contractual negotiations and mitigation outcomes with clients and partners. Furthermore, they will have excellent analytical capabilities and the ability to bring an innovative perspective to the strategic and operating requirements of the role.

This team supports the success of the GMNS business unit, through innovative solutions that help enable profitable growth via acquisition while maintaining robust low tenure credit performance. At American Express, GMNS serves merchants, big and small around the world. American Express has a network that connects millions of consumers, merchants and businesses globally in a payments and commerce ecosystem.
Our GMNS Risk Management Team stands behind each of these purchases, thus protecting this network of millions of consumers, merchants and businesses. Our team makes this happen by leveraging advanced machine learning and network algorithms.
