Reservations Agent Job Description: sell an authentic Alta Lodge experience to guests. Ensure accuracy of all reservations, rates and communications relative to Reservations and guests’ stay. Handle pre-arrival financial transactions between our guests and the Lodge. Consistently provide all guests with a genuine, high-quality hospitality experience. Possess a strong desire and dedication to passionately share Alta’s unique resort community and our authentic mountain experience.
A Reservations Agent should have exceptional phone and written communications skills; the necessary social skills to work with all types of guests/clients; strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and creatively as tasks and problems arise; self-motivation to complete departmental tasks; aptitude to navigate all of our reservations systems on the computer; and be able to work well under pressure while meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.

Assistant Dining Room Manager Job Description: The Dining Room Assistant Manager position is a highly trusted and vital role at the lodge, charged with the responsibility of assisting the Dining Room Manager with managing the dining room and its staff in accordance with the lodge’s values and high standards of guest service. The Assistant Manager is also expected to fill the role of Dining Room Manager on the manager’s days off. The Assistant Manager must be able to train and manage a full staff of up to 25 people (full-time and part-time), including dining room shift managers, wine stewards, servers, bussers, and staff members in other departments who interact with the dining room on a shift. Shift-level management includes coordination of the menu, making service sections, opening and closing on time, responsibility for the guest experience, coordination with the kitchen, enforcing the dress code, dealing with lateness, recruiting subs for sick employees, managing payroll, and moderating disagreements among staff members.
In the Alta Lodge dining room, we strive to create a welcoming environment for both returning and new guests. As a manager, we are relying on you to help create this atmosphere. We expect you to work hard in your position, but we also want you to enjoy as much ski time as reasonably possible. You will be expected to perform all the standard server duties including fine dining dinner service, quick and friendly lunch service, and speedy and cheerful breakfast service, as well as your management duties. A meaningful part of your job will consist of your relationships with guests, many of whom have stayed at the Lodge for decades.
