Position Summary:
Responsible for Supply Chain & Logistics Transport Operations in FAL Mobile. The position is accountable for the overall VSM performance of the Transport Service Provider (TSP) to include all means of transporting Airbus goods to FAL Mobile. The T&LM is the primary leader responsible for driving Hamburg on-time shipping performance out of the HUB, to include all 1st flow, secondary flow, EU direct shipping, MCA Vessel operations and “critical magic” shipments. Provide input into drafting and editing policy and procedure; provide training and counseling to staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee organizational contracts for 4PL in excess of $7M (Annual spend):
Serve as primary organizational contact during contract negotiations with 3PL (DHL) and 4PL (Yusen) operations:
Interface with the OT Organization in EU for insurance coverage and additional requirements based on risk assessments
Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets
Develop and execute negotiation strategies that minimize potential losses and benefit the OT Transport and FAL Mobile organization’s financial performance
Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and internal clients about contractual issues
Review contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution at contract renewal
Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction opportunities:
Supervise air and ocean freight forwarding, global transportation, reverse logistics, surface transportation and supply chain solutions across all segments of the VSM
Lead the team in performing operational analysis, process improvement, capacity planning, strategic activities and project management for forecasting analysis capability
Specific emphasis is placed upon the ability to generate, develop, and implement logistics-related cost-reduction projects for transport in conjunction with Airbus logistics and warehouse operations
Manages and ensures the department compliance with customer contracts and Federal, State, and Local Regulations
Identifies and executes benchmarking exercises to ensure full value from 3PL contracts
Assess, identify, and help qualify US Transport carriers that will assist in competitive transport cost improvements for FAL Mobile
Additional Responsibilities:
Monitor TSP level of service and performance reporting via various KPIs while managing escalation topics and alerts
Manage risk and implement mitigation strategies

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Education:
BA or BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus (5) five years of contract experience. Additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience
Advanced oral and written communication skills are required along with comprehensive knowledge of company policies and procedures and work flow processes
Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing
Conducts strategic pricing planning, leads cost proposal development and participate in technical proposal preparation in compliance with the Federal Estimating System Manual, RFP requirements and other firm policies and procedures
Knowledge of DCAA and DCMA audit standards, federal experience with proposal pricing and cost estimating
Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience working within the community of Supply Chain, Global Transport and Logistics
Experience managing an external service provider
Proven leadership capabilities having managed teams directly
Licensure/Certifications:
Environmental protection in accordance with ISO 14001
Introduction of common operation-instructions of plant processes
Introduction to technical drawing
Analyzing and improving processes in accordance with Six-Sigma-methods
Occupational health and safety regulations
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
