Lafayette Legal Defense firm seeking capable/seasoned Paralegal with preferably 3-5 years
litigation experience to work in a fast paced environment.
Qualifications:
Applicant must be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, have the ability to take direction,
interact professionally with partners and colleagues and to work independently. Outstanding
organizational and time management skills, strong verbal and written communication skills,
reporting skills, confidentiality, professionalism and dependability. Proficiency in software
including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe, PowerPoint and Excel and ability to multi-task in a
fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting attorneys with preparing various
pleadings, including motions and discovery; summarizing deposition; obtaining, updating and
summarizing medical records, creating medical timelines. Obtaining employment records,
education records, tax return records, SSA records, disability records, military records when
applicable. Setting depositions, handling discovery preparation and production and trial
preparation. Enhance Attorney effectiveness by keeping cases organized, monitoring calendars
including facilitating the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely
reminders. Electronic filing with both State and Federal court systems. Maintaining all
documents in firm’s document management system electronically. Maintaining a good working
rapport with clients.
