Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Enterprise Automation, the Principal Business Analyst will support overall automation strategy by performing analysis to support the identification of business needs and determine solutions to business problems. You will work with key stakeholders to identify, assess and create automated solutions. This role is a key link between the technical team and business stakeholders to ensure effective solutions are delivered which drive meaningful and measurable business value. You will communicate pertinent issues to leadership’s attention in an organized and succinct manner.
Essential Functions
Partners with Business Process Owner(s) to develop a deep end-to-end understanding of processes targeted for automation.
Coordinates with the business and automation team to identify and provide analytical support for solution designs, production issues and enhancements.
Performs complex analysis of data and manages the relationship to operational and financial objectives of MWG.
Closely partners with Product Managers as automation solutions are designed to evaluate & advise on potential impact to various parts of the business and automation strategy.
Identifies scope, benefits, constraints and risks for automation initiatives.
Responsible for designing, publishing and maintaining the integrity of executive-level performance reports ensuring consistent and timely delivery to key stakeholders.
Develops metrics and reports using research and tools provided by MWG. Reviews reporting and analytic methodologies and makes recommendations for improvement.
Identifies gaps in tools and data, and works collaboratively with the ERS Analytics team to resolve.
Interprets results of analysis, prepares and presents outcomes to senior leadership.
Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves data issues, working with IT and other areas as needed.
Reviews work of peers to ensure effectiveness and may act as team lead and/or coordinate the activities of others.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Advanced research, analytical, data processing and mathematical skills
Demonstrated natural curiosity and an ability to move through reporting & analysis to deliver insights for business impact.
Must be comfortable with ambiguity and be able to forge a path forward with sometimes limited knowledge and data
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management to present findings relevant to audience
Project management experience and advanced business writing skills
Strong knowledge of AAA business concepts
Strong knowledge of database structures including relational database concepts
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including charts/graphs, pivot tables, lookups, and complex nested formulas
Working knowledge of Oracle or BI tools
Education & Experience / Licenses & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in related area, advanced degree preferred
7+ years of analytical experience in related industry
Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests
Experience writing simple SQL queries for data analysis
Strong Excel and Tableau experience (required)
Strong project management; ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point
Experience creating business cases and ROI which can be submitted to Finance for review and approvals
Familiarity with Bringg Dispatch & Routing Software (preferred)
Mentoring and leadership experience (preferred)
Technical or business certifications relevant to role (preferred)
