Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Talent Strategy, the Sr. Talent Development Consultant will drive NiSource values, mission, and competency model through talent management programs and processes that are strategically linked to the organization’s business strategy. This is a senior level individual contributor with the expertise, autonomy, and authority to develop robust, whole system solutions for the enterprise. They will partner and collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Technical Training, Change Management, Organization Effectiveness, Employee Relations, HR Leadership, and Business Leaderstolead the planning, design, development,implementation,and sustainment of processes/programs that increase employee engagement and accelerate performance to deliver business results. To include performance management, succession management, talent review, leadership development andtargeted development programs for diverse talent, and other strategic initiatives. They will operate as the functional contact of talent management technology.
Key Results:
Increased understanding of the current state of talent and future talent requirements
Readily available programs, resources, and tools to address talent management and leadership development needs both in HR and across the business at all levels
Increased quantity and quality of “ready now” leaders at all levels across NiSource creating a diverse talent pipeline
Effective collaboration with HR and business partners
Streamlined talent management processes/programs leveraging core technology platforms i.e., Success Factors, Workday, etc.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the design and execution of simple, scalable, and sustainable talent and leadership development strategies that identify and enable the future talent needs to execute business strategy across NiSource.Manages,develops, implements, and facilitates program content for and support of the NiSource leadership development curriculumto all levels of audiences, as needed.
Talent & Technology Management
Designs, develops,implements,and maintains processes, programs, and technology in support of talent management strategy ensuring superior employee experience, effectiveness, and efficiency (i.e., performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, executive coaching, targeted development for diverse talent, etc.)
Influences and engages key business stakeholders to design and execute NiSource-wide strategies to accelerate performance and development of leaders in alignment with success profilesand/or competency model (i.e., individual development planning, coaching, mentoring, learning solutions, etc.)
Facilitates decision-making of sr. leaders across business units to align on approach, resourcing, and timing for implementation of talent strategies
Assists with identification of assessment tools and technologies that align with the competencies identified for each level of leadership and/or role (i.e., 360s, leadership style indicators,etc.)
Partners effectively with external vendors and internal resources, as needed, for talent and leadership development solutions
Serves as a key point of contact to the business for talent management programs and technology, addressing questions and requests in a timely and professional manner
Develops learning material and facilitates learning events to ensure NiSource-wide adoption of talent management programs, processes, and technology
Manages the administration of the Talent & Performance platform including new releases and partners with HRIS team to streamline processes and reporting
Designs evaluation strategies to collect feedback, assess the effectiveness of solutions, and make recommendations for improvements
Leadership Development
Stays ahead of external trends and industry best practices to design and develop strategies that meet anticipated strategic enterprise-wide leadership development needs based upon talent and business strategy
Strategically works across functional and organizational boundaries and/or may lead teams in the development and delivery of learning solutions
Consults with executive and business leaders to diagnose needs and identify learning or related projects and recommend appropriate actions
Markets, educates, and communicates with business and peers on resources, initiatives, and curriculum
Oversight of scheduling, documentation, logistics, and coordination of development events conducted by team
Facilitates leadership development curriculum in a virtual and/or in-person instructor-led classroom setting
Partners with Talent Training Specialist and/or Technical Training team to post, assign and track learning solution in learning management system
Required Qualifications for Position
Bachelor’s degree
6+ years’ experience in a talent development related role designing and executing integrated development processes and tools across multiple functions, regions, or geographies
6+ years’ experience in analysis, design, development, implementation, and facilitationof leadership and interpersonal skill learning solutions
Ability to gain an understanding of organization’s business goals and translating business strategy into development needs
Strength in building trusted relationships, collaborating across teams, and influencing partners – peers, senior leaders, and team members
Exceptional project management skills to formulate a plan of action and effective execution of the plan
Ability to exercise independent judgment to make timely decisions, solve complex problems and prioritize projects/responsibilities to drive results
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and support multiple people/programs simultaneously with a strong attention to detail
Demonstrated customer service skills (both internally and externally) at all levels within the organization from entry level to the executive levels
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent facilitation skills
Works collaboratively and cooperatively across organizational boundaries
Previous experience with competency models such as DDI and/or Korn Ferry
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Travel 15-20%
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Organizational Development
Previous Workday experience (Talent, Performance, and Learning)
Certifications such as DDI, Korn Ferry Leadership Architect, DiSC, Hogan, SHRM
