A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant’s education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source.
The Clinical Contract and Budget Administrator at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Clinical Research Administration, reports to the Director of Industry Contracts/Budgets and provides pre-award research administration activity to individual investigators within assigned departments. The Administrator works directly with external sponsors, Principal Investigators, departments throughout the health system, and Administrative Team.
Responsibilities include:
* Review, negotiate, and execute study related documents, including but not limited to, Industry Clinical Research contracts, master agreements, amendments, Letter of Indemnification.
* Review, Prepare, and negotiate Industry Clinical Research budgets. Work closely with Sponsor, Principal Investigators, research staff and departments providing services for the clinical study.
* Serve as a liaison between but not limited to the Conflict-of-Interest Office, Temple University Hospital Pharmacy, Temple University Institutional IRB, TUHS Legal Counsel.
* Serve as backup to contract and budget team when necessary.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least six years of experience in clinical sponsored research or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
* Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs, including MS Word and advanced MS Excel functions.
* Demonstrated knowledge of grant proposal applications for varied funding agencies.
* Demonstrated knowledge of understanding clinical protocols
* Demonstrated knowledge of preparing clinical budgets
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse constituent population.
* Demonstrated organizational skills, along with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and process large amounts of information.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
Please note this position will work remotely, the duration of remote work will be at the discretion of Temple University and the department. May require occasional on-site days with adequate notice.
