The Partnership for Rural Educator Preparation (T-PREP) in the University of Colorado Denver’s School of Education & Human
Development collaborates with a range of Colorado’s rural community colleges to offer pathways for individuals living in rural Colorado to
earn an undergraduate degree and become a certified teacher without leaving their local communities. Candidates in T-PREP at Trinidad State
College (TSC) earn an Associate’s degree from TSC and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Education and Human Development (SEHD) from CU Denver
in a seamless program delivered locally on either the TSC main campus in Trinidad or on the Valley campus in Alamosa, Colorado. The first
half of candidates’ coursework is offered by TSC and the second half is offered by CU Denver in courses delivered locally in face-to-face
settings or online. The T-PREP at TSC (Valley) Residency Coordinator is one of the key personnel for the T-PREP pathway and will (a) will
support T-PREP candidates enrolled in T-PREP education pathways (b) will be an employee of CU Denver; and (c) collaborate and receive
support from both CU Denver and TSC administrators.

The TPREP at TSC (Valley) Residency
Coordinator will have an office on TSC’s Valley campus in Alamosa, Colorado and will report to Valerie Sherman, Director of T-PREP at CU
Denver.

Recruitment & Admission
Advising &
Learning Community Development
Collaborates with advisors at TSC and CU Denver to ensure all advising materials are accurate,
including articulation agreements and advising forms
Supports students on the TSC campus which will include some travel and designing
distance advising structures
Leads development and supports facilitation of a Learning Community infrastructure for T-PREP students in
the first two years at TSC and last two years as CU Denver students connected to the ed preparation curriculum.
Supports students in
connecting with key advising staff at TSC and CU Denver
Curriculum & Instruction Supports
Assists in the coordination of
instructors teaching T-PREP courses at TSC, and CU- Denver face-to-face courses delivered at TSC to develop a collaborative teacher
education instructor community that meets regularly to ensure alignment and coherence within and across clinical blocks of coursework as
well as identify necessary student supports.
Collaborates with TSC and CU Denver leaders to facilitate a summer professional
development institute for all current and new instructors from TSC
School Partnerships & Clinical Supervision
Initiates and
facilitates ongoing partnerships with local area schools and community- based programs where T-PREP students engage in varying levels of
clinical experiences
Works to lead and provide ongoing supervision, coaching and feedback to all T-PREP students in early field
experiences and residency year internships
Collaborates to develop connecting seminars for all students in early field experience
blocks and the collaborative learning community seminars for candidates during residency year internships
Works with other instructors
to complete all clinical evaluations for all candidates
In collaboration with local school district personnel and community-based
partners, provide support to mentor teachers in their roles. Also problem-solves issues students and/or school partners may
experience.
Teaching
Teach at least one course a semester (Other teaching may be available for additional pay).

Knowledge of and experience in PK-12 education and teacher education settings.
Knowledge and experience with local public schools and community-based partners.
Knowledge of social, academic, and financial
resources and supports for underrepresented students in higher education.
Knowledge of and experience in working with diverse
communities.
Proficiency in use of computers for technical writing, project planning, communications, dissemination, and database
management.
Ability to:
Provide leadership to coordinate complex and detailed tasks related to: ECE and elementary program
structures at both TSC and CU Denver; program delivery; developing a local teacher education community; local school and community-based
program relations; and support services to enhance retention and success of underrepresented students in higher education.
Collaborate with others to design and implement teacher education curriculum.
Work with diverse populations, demonstrating high
levels of cultural sensitivity and responsiveness.
