About Us
Woolworths New Zealand is New Zealand’s largest private sector employer, with turnover of ~$8bn and a team of 22,000 Kiwis serving 3 million customers across 191 Countdown supermarkets and 72 franchise stores every week.
As part of Woolworths Group, we are committed to our purpose of creating better experiences together for a better tomorrow and making Kiwis’ lives a little better every day. We are proud to be NZ’s largest online retailer and we are passionate about continuing to innovate in the areas of digital, rewards, analytics, fresh food and sustainability.
The Role
We have an exciting transformation agenda and as we embark on our next transformation horizon, we are looking to make a key appointment onto our Executive Leadership Team.
Reporting into the Managing Director of Woolworths New Zealand, the Director of Transformation & Accelerator Businesses will play a key role in driving our transformation to become an even better business for our customers, team, partners, and communities. This role will be based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Partnering closely with both the New Zealand leadership team and across Woolworths Group, this role is responsible for developing strategy and orchestrating the delivery of our transformation. Core to the role will be a focus on understanding the broader retail context, the NZ market, industry and competitive trends, whilst leveraging the best of Woolworths Group, to create and implement a plan to deliver growth and competitive advantage.
This role will lead the delivery of strategy, customer insights, analytics, and transformation enablement capabilities in New Zealand, partnering across Woolworths to ensure that these capabilities are deployed to drive transformation and support key objectives. This includes partnering with WIQ (Woolworths’ data and analytics arm) to drive data-driven transformation in New Zealand.
This role will also be accountable for driving growth and profit in our key Accelerator Businesses, including P&L accountability for our FreshChoice franchise banner, New Zealand Grocery Wholesalers, and support and enable our retail media business Cartology across NZ.
