GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Recovery Research Institute (RRI) within the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Department of Psychiatry is recruiting a full time Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRC) to work 40 hours per week.
The CRC will work 20 hours per week with Dr. David Eddie on his National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) funded study developing the algorithms that will enable the biosensors embedded in commercially available smartwatches to detect stress in real time using physiological measures of autonomic arousal, which will ultimately be used to trigger smartphone relapse prevention apps to prompt patients with real-time coaching to mitigate alcohol use relapse risk. You can learn more about this study and Dr. Eddie’s other research at https://eddielab.mgh.harvard.edu/ .
The CRC will also work 20 hours per week with Dr. John Kelly, the founder and director of the Recovery Research Institute, on one of his National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) or National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) funded studies investigating substance use disorder recovery mechanisms.
The CRC will be responsible for helping with a variety of study tasks, including participant management (e.g., recruitment, enrollment, and follow-ups), correspondence with the Institutional Review Board (IRB), study data management, and assistance with grant finances. There will likely be opportunities for manuscript co-authorship with Dr. Eddie, depending on the candidate’s interests and contributions to the work. This individual will be joining an established team of faculty and staff, including other CRCs. Drs. Eddie and Kelly will supervise and support all CRC activities. The candidate will ideally be able to start ASAP.
