UNM Facilities Management (FM)
is seeking to hire a Master Fleet Mechanic to join our FM-Automotive
division. The ideal candidates will be responsible for diagnoses and repairs
on complex vehicle problems. He/she will responsible for demonstrating specialized
techniques and provide leadership to other technicians in all aspects of
automotive repairs. Typically works in a motor pool environment and may be
required to occasionally work outside.
Facilities Management is responsible for the care and upkeep of the
physical campus environment. Additionally, the automotive division is an
award winning, full service, vehicle maintenance and repair facility
responsible for the safe operation of UNM’s 700 plus vehicle fleet.

All applicants must hold current Master ASE certification.
Pay is determined based on level of experience and education.
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure: Certified as Master Automotive Technician by Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or equivalent; Certified in areas required by City, State, and/or Federal Agencies (i.e., Freon Recovery/Emission Inspection).
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
