Under the general guidance and direction of the CSPS Training and Staff Development Manager the Central Sterile Processing Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all required training and associated documentation for the department is completed as assigned. Working collaboratively with Clinical Operations, the Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for registration, logistics, material preparation, reporting and communications for all assigned training programs. The Staff Development Coordinator actively participates in the training of student interns and new employees; maintaining competency in all core sterile processing functions is required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be able to perform all duties in accordance with the MGH Policies and Procedures. International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) and/or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD) standards and procedures should be understood and followed. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining CRCST or CBSPD at all times during employment.

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Certificate : CRCST or CBSPD preferred
Field of Study/Additional Specialized Training:
Graduate of Sterile Processing Training program preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: At least Three (3) years direct experience performing all Sterile Processing functions within an operative setting. Demonstrated experience in project management, training, or OR liaison function.
Preferred: Experience gained in a large Academic Medical Center or Trauma Center.
