Nurse Manager OR Position Summary
Single or multi-department management of operations. Manages day to day operations. Directs, supervises, orients/trains and evaluates staff. Enforces policies, procedures and standards of operation. Position may have budgetary or fiscal accountability. Renders individualized comprehensive nursing care, based on nursing process, to meet the patient’s physical, psychological, spiritual, social and educational needs. Manages the staff to meet designated goals. Position is responsible for approving timekeeping, employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders and department strategic planning.
THE NURSE MANAGER OR CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Minimum Education: Nursing Degree from an Accredited Nursing School or Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
Preferred Education: Master Degree.
Minimum Experience: Three years relevant clinical nursing experience.
Preferred Experience: Two years management/supervisory experience
Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Arizona. CPR required. ACLS as applicable by Facilty/by Department, PALS/NRP are required for certain clinical areas.
Special Skills: Must be able to work under deadlines. Must be able to utilize independent decision making skills in a wide variety of situations.
Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities. Personal computer skills required. Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers. Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines
