GCI is recruiting for a Sous Chef position for our 2022 season beginning approximately June 1 – October 1.
GCI’s Agulowak Retreat is located 320 miles southwest of Anchorage inside Alaska’s famous Wood Tikchik State Park, the largest state park in the United States. Encompassing 1.6 million acres of undeveloped land, pristine lakes, mountains, rivers, streams and vast expanses of open tundra. The Retreat is situated on the shore of the Agulowak River, near its headwaters on Lake Nerka. The setting provides easy access to world-class fly and spin fishing, challenging hiking opportunities, kayaking, sightseeing and much more. We are a private lodge that entertains employees of the company, business partners and customers.
Our ideal candidate needs to be professional, friendly, and personable, have a positive attitude, prepared (and excited) to live in remote Alaska, flexible, and respect other employees. Because of the remoteness of the lodge, we rely on the skills and dedication of each person to provide for the needs of our guests and staff alike. Teamwork is important.
Applicants must have prior restaurant, hospitality, and/or banquet kitchen experience, preferably in a resort setting.
Private room, internet, private bathroom, and all meals included for all staff.
Upon successful completion of a full season commitment, all staff receives an end of season bonus payment in addition to their regular hourly wage.
