An excellent opportunity to bring Community Health programming to the Greater St. Petersburg, FL area. Job Description Under the guidance of the Director of Healthy Communities, the Community Health Program Manager will develop, implement and facilitate health programs for the association Community Health Department and School-Aged Programs. Salary range $41,000 – $43,000. Clear criminal history and drug screening required. Qualifications • A four-year college degree in wellness, education, nutrition or related field required. Equivalent extensive related experience may be substituted for a degree. • Minimum two years of community health programming experience is required. • Minimum 1 -year wellness curriculum development preferred. • The ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community is essential. • Must be capable of working under pressure as well as communication both verbally and written when dealing with various members, employees and volunteers. • Must possess effective organizational skills. • Broad overview of the YMCA as it operates as a local, national and international movement preferred. • Must possess traditional programming and budgetary skills. • Must be able to operate standard recreational, office and computer equipment. • Must possess valid driver’s license, good driving record and reliable transportation to travel between sites. Essential Functions 1. Facilitate and manage Community Health exercise and nutrition programs at the YMCA branches and in the community. 2. Launch, facilitate, and manage Kid Power nutrition and exercise program. a. Responsible for facilitating physical activity each day with children in the School Age Program (SAP) . b. Develop/Implement daily physical activity calendar that aligns with program. c. Develop/Implement nutrition education schedule of activities from provided research based curriculum. d. Facilitate nutrition lesson to each age group at each school once per week (1 day per site) e. Responsible for purchase, design and dissemination of food for nutrition activities education weekly to SAP sites. 3. Supervise and assist in hiring part time staff to facilitate programs. 4. Coordinate program promotion and communications. Develop healthy living communications, survey and incentives for parents to encourage weekend activities . 5. Monitor and log student progress towards stated outcomes. Facilitate Pre & Post testing and manage data and reporting as required by program funder . 6. D evelop, recommend and administer the program budget. Purchase & deliver the weekly program supplies for each location . 7. Ensures all established policies are carried out and that programs and activities are conducted in a professional and safe manner. |
