About This Role
At Chinova, we are using the power of mushrooms to help improve quality, freshness and shelf-life which ultimately leads to reducing food waste. We are seeking a dynamic and charismatic Director of Sales who will own and lead all sales efforts for our Chiber™ product lines across multiple food and beverage categories reporting directly to the CEO. This position will lead the company wide sales activities by effectively communicating the benefits and value of our technology to customers, suppliers, and consumers in order to drive commercial success for the company. You will scale the category globally, and drive efficiency and productivity.

We are transforming the food preservation ingredient space, and we are looking for someone that is ready to lead the charge across the food industry and build off our fast growing existing customer base.
What You’ll Do
Work with our existing and prospective clients to influence their organization, their long-term vision and their needs around clean-label, product quality, preservation and consumer label awareness. Understand and influence brands in the beverage, dairy, plant-based alternative and baked goods industries with the aim of increasing adoption and speed of roll-out for Chinova solutions.
Build a healthy pipeline to match our rapidly expanding production capability
Work closely with the CEO and participate in key business planning, including reporting to our Board and advisors
Create a strategy and pipeline for our Chiber™ product lines and establish long-term business relationships with targeted brand partners within the food and beverage industry
Constantly deliver against quotas ensuring company goals and objectives are met sustainably.
Provide sales support for demand creation with prospects, existing accounts and revenue opportunities.
Actively engage cross-functionally with Product, Strategy, Marketing and Operations to address scalability, lead generation, and other challenges and initiatives.
Accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual global sales revenue.
Prepare budgetary recommendations that meet organizational and departmental goals and provide for effective management of resources.
Share your experience on best practices internally to build for scale across multiple food and beverage categories

Proven sales leader, with experience leading the charge in evangelizing a new product in a fast-growing market
5+ years of experience in a lead role in the food ingredients industry
Solid experience with CRM, sales tools and other business applications
Deep domain expertise within the ingredients industry and a strong network with food brands
Proven experience in working cross-functionally in a fast-paced and highly entrepreneurial environment.
Excellent quota track record and experience leading and closing complex deal negotiations and partnerships.
Willingness to travel (locally, regionally, internationally) ~ 70% of the time.
Passion for problem-solving and developing others; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; presentation skills at the C-suite level; and the proven capability to make timely and sound decisions.
A can-do attitude with the ability to influence others.
Education and Experience
Post-graduate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience within the food ingredients industry
10+ years of experience in leading a successful sales team in food ingredient industry.
