Department: Education
Position Details:
The instructor will be responsible for teaching EDU 247 (Special Topics: Field Based Experience in Education) and EDU 347 (Special Topics: Practicum in Education) for the Spring 2023 semester. Both of these courses are temporary placeholders for early field experiences within education programs as we transition to the revised curriculum where these field experiences will be credit bearing courses — EDU 204 (1 credit) and EDU 310 (2 credits). Together they are considered the equivalent of a 3-credit course.
As clinical/field experience courses, there is no weekly group meeting times with the students. Instructional hours are completed at their individual field sites. In addition to providing individual mentorship, giving feedback on and grading field assignments like lesson plans, assessment evaluations, observations, and reflective journals, the instructor will have the role of “supervisor” for the field experience. The supervisor will be the primary point of contact for the cooperating teacher who works with the student in the field.
Application Details:
Qualified applicants should attach a cover letter describing their interest and qualifications for the position; a current curriculum vitae or resume; names and contact information for three (3) references; and all unofficial graduate transcripts. Incomplete applications or applications submitted via other methods not considered.
Review of applications will be immediate and continue until the position is filled.
