Additionally responsible for the management of employment-based immigrant visa applications handled by external counsel. This position will oversee the compiling, updating, and tracking of immigration data and statuses.
* Identifies and tracks laws and regulations that might affect the organization’s policies, practices, and procedures
* Manages employee notifications and trainings as required by State labor requirements. This includes reviewing appropriate training materials and modules to meet organization and compliance needs
* Compiles all compliance and mandates reporting requirement including those related to EEO, ADA, ERISA, and the Department of Labor
* Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees in an effort to manage risk and regulatory compliance
* Ensures that the US labor law posters are updated as necessary and as required; manage third party labor law poster vendor relationship
* Ensures mandatory trainings are updated and completed for new hires and existing employees
* Leads all internal departmental audits related to I-9 and other compliance related items
* Responsible for all company handbook updates as necessary
* Ensures all personnel records are maintained as required
* Maintain a close relationship with the HR Strategic Partnership Team and Talent Acquisition regarding immigration cases, requesting case-related information as needed, and keeping the business and the employee apprised of case updates as they become available.
* Review employment-based visa applications and immigration petitions provided by outside immigration counsel to ensure accuracy and route to AVP of HR for final review and signature
* Manage various immigration-related projects from planning to execution and completion
* Regularly provide instruction and information to Bayview employees regarding visa program practices and procedures
* Assist with issue resolution pertaining to employees’ immigration statuses
* Ensure employee and employer compliance with Bayview’s immigration policy.
* Evaluate issues for escalation as needed.
* Prepare monthly status expiration reports and maintain concise recordkeeping for all employees under the visa program.
* Other duties as assigned by the Human Resources management team
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required
* Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and State employment laws; Ability to research, understand and communicate complex labor laws
* High level of interpersonal and organization skills
* Strong attention to detail in composing, proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines
* Ability to prioritize and multi-task
* Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management
* Extensive knowledge with MS Office Suite
* Experience and competency with HRIS
* Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
* 3-5 years human resources or compliance experience required
* 1-2 years of employment immigration/visa sponsorship experience required
* Will be expected to work out of Coral Gables, FL office or our Fort Lauderdale FL office as needed
*Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration*
* SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
* PHR or SPHR certification preferred
