Our organization is in search of a dynamic and innovative Robotics & Controls Engineering Manager to join our manufacturing team. This role will have a direct impact on the efficiency, productivity, and technological progression of our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing our robotics and controls engineering team, ensuring the development, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge automation systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation systems, including robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems.
2. Manage and mentor a team of robotics and controls engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and develop solutions that improve operational efficiency and productivity.
4. Oversee the programming and integration of robotics and control systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards, incorporating best practices into our operations.
6. Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and specifications, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues, providing technical guidance and support to the team.
8. Establish and implement training programs to enhance the team’s technical skills and knowledge.
9. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality equipment and components.
10. Ensure all automation systems and processes comply with safety regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in robotics and controls engineering in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficient in PLC, HMI, and Robotics programming, with hands-on experience with Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Ethernet IP, and Fanuc.
4. Demonstrated experience in managing and leading technical teams.
5. Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong technical acumen.
6. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and automation technologies.
7. Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
9. Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards.
10. Commitment to safety, with a thorough understanding of safety regulations and standards in the manufacturing industry.
11. Ability to travel as needed to support project implementation and system troubleshooting.
12. Professional Engineering (PE) license or Certified Automation Professional (CAP) certification is a plus.
