Summary
Under the guidance of the Managing Director of Development, this position will set the strategic direction for all Cardiovascular Programs fundraising efforts. The Director of Development will be charged with leading fundraising efforts to increase support for all Cardiovascular Programs. The Director of Development will manage and solicit a portfolio of major gift prospects, including gifts to support professorships, research, faculty and trainee support, patient care, capital, and other Health System priorities. Under the direction of the Managing Director of Development, the Director of Development will lead, inspire, and coordinate the effort of the Cardiovascular Programs Team, including overseeing/promoting their productivity, teamwork, and professional development.

The onsite location for this position is an office suite at the 777 Building. This provides free, on-site parking for staff.
This position may be eligible for flexible work opportunities at the discretion of the hiring department. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent on the business needs of the hiring department, throughout the course of employment. This position works both onsite and remotely based on the business needs of the unit.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
