*Job Summary:*
The *HR Generalist position is responsible for managing various HR functions within an assigned client group. *The role involves overseeing employee relations, policies, recruitment, talent management, and serving as a liaison for managing union relationships (if applicable). The *HR Generalist works to promote positive employee relations, implements HR policies and procedures, conducts recruitment efforts, investigates employee relations issues, and administers the collective bargaining agreement (if applicable).*
Additionally, the role involves coaching and advising employees and managers on HR policies and contractual agreements, and assisting with workforce planning, compensation, and training initiatives.
*Major Job Responsibilities:*
*Business Excellence:*
* Building strategic partnerships with front-line employees and supervisors to foster positive employee relations.
* Creating plans to monitor and review attendance, punctuality, conduct, and performance issues, and suggesting corrective actions.
* Implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and reporting requirements.
* Coordinating recruitment efforts, developing job announcements, interview materials, and conducting interviews.
*People and Culture:*
* Serving as the first point of contact for employee relations to manage grievance procedures.
* Administering the collective bargaining agreement and participating in union contract negotiations (if applicable).
* Coaching and advising employees and managers on employee relations policies and contractual agreements.
* Partnering with Talent Acquisitions to develop and implement workforce plans, and assisting with compensation and training initiatives.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
* Working knowledge of HR Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll systems.
* Familiarity with employee relations, local employment laws, benefits, and HR principles.
*Experience and Education:*
* Required: 3 to 5 years of HR Generalist experience.
* Preferred: Experience in employee relations within a unionized manufacturing facility.
* Required: University degree in HR or a Business-related field.
* Preferred: CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) Qualified.
