DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supervises the Equipment Management Section in the Division Office Planning and Facility Support Services. Responsibilities include reviewing and creating policies and procedures for the vehicle fleet, managing the department’s automotive fleet of around 1,000 vehicles and heavy equipment, and serving as the automotive officer for the department.In this position, you will evaluate vehicle maintenance and operation through the examination of department records and reports from the automotive information system. They provide recommendations for improving fleet efficiency and effectiveness. Monthly and quarterly reports on department vehicles are analyzed for accuracy and to address any missing or incorrect documentation.Additionally, you will monitor vehicle use and assignments, suggesting optimal departmental vehicle usage and addressing underutilization. They also review, coordinate, and process actions related to heavy equipment and assess and recommend the disposal of surplus heavy equipment. This involves working with the Department of General Services (DGS) and users to determine the fair market value of heavy equipment trade-ins.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, with 60-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor’s degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:This particular position also requires a current Class C Driver’s License which is not under suspension.You must meet the PA residency requiremen.
