RN Cardiology Hosp/Office
The RN Cardiology Hospital-Office is responsible for the delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient’s needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The RN, in cooperation with the cardiologists, provides a leadership role in the delivery of patient care in the acute care and office setting.
Guides the providers to complete rounding by collecting and communicating inpatient census lists and prioritizing new consults from emergency department, stress lab, inpatients, transfers from other facilities, and physician offices. Communicates with the cath lab manager for coordination of cath lab procedures to facilitate physician staffing between the office and hospital.
Participates in the plan of care of patients and their families (in person or via phone) by providing teaching on procedures, surgeries, abnormal lab values, etc, and follows patients during the inpatient stay to provide continuity of care. Documents and conveys discharge instructions and obtains follow up appointments on all patients being discharged.
During in-office appointments, gathers data, assists with notes to ensure proper billing, performs data entry, and conducts patient teaching on any in-office procedures as applicable.
Within the scope of the position and RN licensure, answers staff questions and educates medical assistants, directing work when appropriate, to ensure excellent customer service and patient satisfaction.
Manages the revenue capture process and ensures appropriate physician charges are captured.
Coordinates the transfer of and obtains previous medical records on transferring patients for physicians at hospital and satellite locations.
Monitors electronic medical record for deficiencies and delinquencies and notifies appropriate provider(s) for reconciliation.
Will also travel to Mason office as well as work at the Kenwood location.
Required minimum Education: 2 year associates in Nursing
Preferred Education: 4 year Bachelors in Nursing
Current OH RN licensure required
